5 things worth doing early
"To support UNH students in exercising their constitutional right to vote in New Hampshire state and federal elections, no examinations will be scheduled on the first Tuesday of November, and such should be designated in the University calendars." The catalog adds: "Where possible, students are encouraged to vote at a time that does not conflict with their academic obligations."
"The Faculty Senate recognizes that grade inflation exists at the University of New Hampshire." It goes on: "The senate, therefore, states that throughout this University the grade of C shall indicate competent, acceptable performance and learning in undergraduate courses; the grade of B shall indicate superior performance and learning; the grade of A shall indicate excellent performance and learning."
"Students in their first term at the University have the option to change up to 4 credits from graded to pass/fail at any point prior to the Friday of the 10th week of the semester and must obtain the approval of their advisor."
"Any student that has completed a statistics course and declares or changes to a major that requires a different statistics course must speak with the new major department." One option the department has: "Require the student to take a different statistics course, which may result in the student losing credit for the first statistics course taken." And: "Generally, students cannot receive academic credit for more than one of the statistics courses below."
Gus is an AI college companion built around your actual classes. Record a lecture and it writes the notes, pulls out the key topics, builds a flashcard deck, and makes a practice quiz from what was actually said. The flashcards come back on a spaced-review schedule, so the thing you missed shows up again right before you would have forgotten it. It is free to try.
A double major can overlap by only 8 credits
"A maximum of eight (8) credits may be shared between the two majors." And: "UNH Durham and Manchester students must obtain approval from the department offering the second major, and the dean of the college in which the second major is offered."
UNH Catalog — Second MajorStudy away needs 32 credits first
To study away a student "Must have earned at least 32 credit hours at the time of departure, at least 12 of which must have been earned at the University of New Hampshire at the baccalaureate level."
