4 things worth doing early
"Grade Omission: A student may elect the grade omission option for one of the two Grade Forgiveness opportunities if the student is changing their major and the course is not required for the new major. In addition, a student electing grade omission may not re-enter that major."
"Students who are not in Good Standing cannot hold office in any club or organization, represent UT Arlington at any official or social event, or make any University trip without the permission of the appropriate dean or the University Advising and Engagement Center (UAEC)." Good standing is "a cumulative University grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 or higher."
"The student may not obtain an official transcript from UT Arlington until they have filed a degree plan." The deadline is the end of the second regular semester after you pass 30 hours, counting transfer, IB, dual credit and credit by exam.
"Additional major degrees cannot be added to students’ degree plans until they have completed at least 30 hours of college coursework." "A student can only work on two major/degree programs simultaneously."
Gus is an AI college companion built around your actual classes. Record a lecture and it writes the notes, pulls out the key topics, builds a flashcard deck, and makes a practice quiz from what was actually said. The flashcards come back on a spaced-review schedule, so the thing you missed shows up again right before you would have forgotten it. It is free to try.
Skipping the courses your advisor set can go to Student Conduct
"Failure to enroll in courses as prescribed/contracted by academic advisor without consultation and consent can lead to disciplinary actions through Student Conduct."
UTA Catalog — student responsibilities (advising)Classes at another school will not fix your UTA standing
"Academic standing is determined solely by UT Arlington coursework. Coursework from another institution cannot be used to improve a student's academic standing at UT Arlington."
